No artificial colors or chemicals were used in its production - it is a natural product in every sense of the word.
Skeppshult cast iron products conduct and retain heat evenly and effectively. This makes Skeppshult cast iron ideal for baking. Seasoned dishes acquire a proper tan on the outside and remain juicy on the inside. Due to its high heat storage capacity, cast iron pans are also ideal for serving at the table.
No colors or other chemicals are used in the production of cast iron at the Skeppshult foundry. When frying in fat, a thin natural layer forms on the surface of the cast iron, preventing food from sticking to the plate - a natural "non-stick" surface, while also creating a beautiful black patina. The appealing appearance and "non-stick" properties are further enhanced by the fact that Skeppshult treats its products with natural rapeseed oil, partially "seasoning" them already at the time of purchase so they can be used immediately. Before first use, the manufacturer recommends a brief rinse with hot water to remove dust.
Skeppshult cookware is made of cast iron approximately 6 mm thick, which retains heat for a long time and distributes it evenly. They are safe for use on glass-ceramic stoves, one reason being that cast iron is a softer material than glass or ceramic.
Note: Since Skeppshult products are handmade, slight deviations in size and finishing are possible.
