Coconut milk powder is a fine white powder commonly used in Asian cuisine. It is obtained by drying fresh coconut milk and is used in recipes calling for coconut milk by mixing it with water.

BUYING AND STORAGE
Fresh coconut milk should be used within a week, while powdered coconut milk can last up to two years.
CULINARY USE
Coconut milk is used in both savory and sweet dishes. In Asia, it is added to curry sauces and serabi, Asian pancakes, while in the Caribbean, Indonesia, and Malaysia, it is used to prepare coconut rice.
It is a common addition to desserts in South America and can also be used as a beverage. Piña colada, coquito, and Brazilian batida de côco are just some of the tropical drinks and cocktails that use coconut milk.
It is an excellent substitute for milk in vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free diets, as well as an addition to smoothies for a fine, tropical flavor. It is used in ice cream preparation because it gives them a creamy and dense texture and can also be used in cream soups.
