We take your data protection seriously and we commit to the protection of your data based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We recognize the importance of your privacy, safety, and data protection and we want you to feel comfortable while visiting our webpage.

When collecting your personal data or when you share it with us, we use them according to the following Privacy policy.

Harissa is the leading store for spices, teas and various other food products like balsamico, sauces, aromas, dried fruits, flowers and other similar products.

Personal data are data relating to you that can be used to identify you directly (for example, your first and last name) or indirectly (for example, through a pseudonym such as a unique identification number). Personal data includes the name and surname, address, age, e-mail address and telephone number of a specific person. Personal data may also include numerical identifiers such as computer IP address, mobile phone MAC address or cookies.

We collect only the personal data you want to give us or the personal data necessary to provide you with and/or improve our services and products.

We collect and receive data through our website, applications, social media pages and/or other ways.

You give us your personal data directly (for example, when you create a user account, when you contact us when you enter your data in the LOYALTY gateway when you buy via the webshop, applications, or in our stores), and sometimes we collect them (for example, by using cookies to understand how you use our websites and applications).

You can give us your e-mail address, name, phone number, and other information so that we can provide you with information about our products, about the possibility of participating in our prize games or surveys, or simply if you want to receive information about special offers, discounts and/or other activities and offers of Harissa.

You can also become part of the successful Harissa team and start a career in Harissa by applying for a vacancy or by sending an open application and CV to our e-mail address info@harissa.hr.


We use your personal data exclusively to operate Harissa, as well as for management, support, and feedback on the service provided, and to prevent violations of security, law, or contractual terms.

We will primarily use your personal data to manage purchases and orders, to conduct prize games, special offers, or surveys, to answer your questions and inquiries, offer loyalty programs, send promotional content (if you have requested it), to analyze and collect statistical data.

Data we collect for the purposes of online shopping

To use the service of online ordering and purchasing products on the harissa.hr webshop, we need certain personal data:

  • Your e-mail to identify you as a user and to provide you access to your user profile
  • Your name and last name used to personalize the messages in the system and in the e-mails you automatically receive after a successfully finished ordering process or purchase from the harissa.hr webshop
  • The address used for delivery
  • If small businesses and companies request the R1 invoice, we also need the VAT number and the company name as part of the process of invoicing
  • Phone number used only in case an issue occurs with your order
  • Contact e-mail (can be different from the user e-mail), used only to send you a confirmation message after successfully finishing the order and insight into your payments.

This data is saved on your user profile on the webpage of harissa.hr, together with the preview of your orders, and only you as a user have an insight into this data, as well as harissa.hr as the service provider.

In the case of online billing, your data is also sent to the online billing service WsPay.

You can get insight into your personal data and the history of your completed orders by logging into your user account via e-mail and password. You can also update your personal information in your user profile. You can update all data except the account e-mail, which is the identifier of the user profile and cannot be changed.

If you want to use your "right to forget", send an email to info@harissa.hr indicating that you want to delete your user account and we will make sure your personal data is deleted from our system as quickly as possible and that we no longer use them in our data processing, but note that we are not able to delete data from already issued invoices, i.e. online payments and offline archives.

Data we collect through the contact form

To help you fix eventual issues and inquiries, we need some of your personal data:

  • Name and last name
  • E-mail contact
  • Phone number (optional)

These data are only sent via email at info@harissa.hr and are not saved on the webpage harissa.hr.

Depending on the purpose of collecting and processing personal data, the legal basis for processing your data can be: Your consent, our legitimate interest (improvement of our products and services, fraud prevention, security and maintenance of tools used for example websites/applications/devices that are safe for use), execution of the contract or the service you requested and regulations that require the processing of personal data.

Harissa keeps your personal data sent to us through this webpage in a database.

We will keep your personal data only as long as it is necessary to answer your questions or solve an issue, to provide new and better service, and per applicable legal provisions. 

When determining the period in which we keep your data, we are following the following criteria:

  • when purchasing our products, we retain your personal data for the duration of the contract
  • when taking part in a prize game and/or promotion we retain your personal data for the duration of the prize game and/or promotion
  • during your inquiries, we retain your personal data for the period necessary to process the inquiry
  • when creating a user account, we retain your data until you request to delete the account or after a period of inactivity
  • when subscribing for the newsletter, we retain your personal data until you unsubscribe, cancel your subscription or request us to delete the subscription
  • when storing cookies on your computer, we retain your personal data as long as they serve their purpose.

We may retain your personal data after you stop using our services or stop using this website for fulfilling your legal obligations or managing your rights (before courts or other competent authorities) or collecting statistics and keeping records.

When we no longer need your personal data for any of the above-stated purposes, your data will be deleted from all systems within Harissa.

We want to draw your attention to the fact that you have the right to delete your personal data at any time.

We are using solutions of third parties to secure transaction safety made through our pages and apps from unallowed use of personal data and fraud. The fraud detection method is based on simple comparisons, associations, groupings, predictions, and determination of atypical values using intelligent agents, and data collection techniques through various techniques of deep data analysis.

In case of automated fraud detection, we may delay the processing of your order/request to verify the transaction and/or we can refuse the order delivery or request if we determine the possibility of fraud. In this case, we take all necessary safety measures and protection to limit the access to your data and you have the right to access information on which we based our decision.

When sending or showing personalized notifications and content, we may use techniques called “profiling”, or any form of automated data processing that includes using the listed personal data to assess personal aspects of the client, especially analysis or prediction of aspects regarding their personal preferences, interests, economic situation, behavior, etc.
