The country of origin of the red bush (rooibos) is South Africa.
The natives used the red bush to make a fruity, sweet tea long before the Europeans. The twigs of the bush are dried in the sun and then cut into small pieces.
This tea was first exported to distant countries in the 19th century, and since then its export has been increasing. As a result we have a controlled cultivation of a once wild bush.
High-quality red bush tea has a ruby color and a mild, sweet, characteristic aroma.
